		Association of Professional Landscape Designers provides information and resources on hiring a professional landscape designer. Professional landscape designers are qualified through education, training, and/or professional experience to design landscapes. APLD establishes industry standards of excellence.
		The JC Raulston Arboretum is a nationally acclaimed garden with the most diverse collection of landscape plants in the southeastern United States. Plants especially adapted to Piedmont North Carolina conditions are collected and evaluated in an effort to find superior plants for use in southern landscapes. Convienent to Raleigh, Chapel Hill, Durham, Cary, and Apex, the JC Raulston Arboretum is free and open to the public 365 days each year from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM (April through October) and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (November through March). The Arboretum is located at 4415 Beryl Road near the NC State Fairgrounds.
		NC STATE PLANT FACT SHEETS provide an excellent resource for the North Carolina homeowner on plants that are well suited to this area. Pictures and details are provided on annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, grasses, ferns, bulbs, as well gardening topics such as planting to attract butterflies and birds and water gardening.
